Business and Politics in the Muslim World (BPM) refers to a study funded by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, and is conducted at the International Islamic University (IIU), Islamabad with Dr. Ijaz Shafi Gilani as its principal investigator.
It has two components, the first is titled "Globalized Business and Politics: A View from the Muslim World", while the second is titled "Muslim Rainbow". The first of the two components is already in opertion and its weekly reports on social and political events from around the globe are available on this blog. This blog is updated weekly with weekly summaries, analytical microscopic and telescopic reports from different regions of the world.
The second component of the study focusing on the "Muslim Rainbow" will follow in due course. This blog focuses presently on the first component, and aims to encourage active discussions and the participation of readers. The discussions will help us refine our theoretical framework and make sense of the data we collect.
The responsibility for the moderation of blog activities and discussion rests with Dr. Ijaz Shafi Gilani and his research team.
